Living Life: Back To Writing

Hello, I’m back! I’m really really sorry that I haven’t been updating much. The time needed to keep up with my studies, work and other life stuff (you know lah like rent and stuff) was far more overwhelming than I thought. But since my exams are done, I’ll be trying to pump out more blog posts in the upcoming weeks!

So as for plans for my holidays, I actually have quite a full schedule. Working a few shifts, starting some Dungeon and Dragons playthrough with friends, having friends coming to Melbourne to study and all sort of other stuff. So yeah, stay tuned to some blog posts about them!

P.S. to the people who continues to read my blog even though I didn’t update for 3 months. Thank you all. You know who you are.

Living Life: Mini Life Update

Hey guys! First and foremost, I haven’t been able to update my blogs as much as I want to. So sorry about that. To give a quick update, I’m in my 3rd week of the semester which is about a quarter way through. Nothing too overwhelming yet. Everything is still within control. Just got a part time job offer as well so everything has been going well so far. πŸ™‚

Secondly, I realize 1 short story every week was really exhausting and I couldn’t come up with much ideas. So from now on, I only write short stories whenever I have the inspiration to write one.

Furthermore, I will only publish blog posts which are worthy(?) I guess. I don’t want to give a blog post which is half-done. I want to provide more quality blog posts.

Thanks to all my viewers for being patient and for checking up on my blog. You guys are the best! πŸ˜€ There will be more exciting adventures coming up! Peace.

Living Life: Back In Melbourne

Alas, my 3 month holiday in Brunei has come to an end. I’m typing this blog post now in Melbourne.

As usual, this 3 months back in Brunei really made me feel like I was at home. With my family, with my other ‘family’ and with my very good friends. Honestly, when I was about to leave for the airport, I was really sad. I didn’t want to leave them. I didn’t want to leave my beautiful home. I didn’t want to leave my great and awesome families and friends. I didn’t want to leave behind the good times we’ve had. It’s only been a few hours and I already miss them. It feels like you’ve lost a part of yourself. A part of you that is so essential to your life. You see them and interact with them almost daily. It really does suck to not see them for a long time.

However, I want this to be an appreciation post of sorts, especially to the 4 people who has been with me ever since I’ve been back. Shoutout to Kevin, Ehsan, Audrey and Nick Chin. You guys really made this holiday back home one of the best. All the times that we’ve been out together, just talking and hanging out, really made it for me. Thank you for all the good times. Special thanks to Ehsan and Nick Chin for helping me surprise Kevin on his birthday! I look forward to meeting you all again and let’s have another potluck :>

Also, special shoutout to my other family members who were part of this holiday too! Ben, Wei Ying, Wen Jun, Li Ying, Leo, Desmond, Yih Ping, Edward, Nicholas Lee, Soo Jing, Chann Yen, Stephanie, Dann, Zhi Chu, Fish. I think that’s all heh. I hope I don’t miss anybody out HAHA. You guys made the holiday really special too. I definitely won’t forget all the memories and I would like to see you all again some time soon. Let’s have another big party! πŸ˜€

Lastly, here’s a photo of the 5 of us. πŸ™‚

Living Life: Start of Something New

It’s officially 2017 at every place of the world! I wish everybody happy new year and that may your 2017 be better than 2016 if it was awful. πŸ™‚

Initially when I started this blog, I was only planning to write about my thoughts and my life. But since then, I have started to write short stories and hope to continue to write more! I love writing short stories! They were a great way of getting my mind off the real life. It gave me a way to express myself properly. So, to start the new year, I hope to write more short stories! Well, at least once a week. This might not be possible if I am busy with my studies or life in general but I will try πŸ™‚

Stay tuned for more short stories!

Living Life: 2016 In Review

Just 2 days until the start of a new year! It sure has been a hectic year all around, filled with joy and sorrow. The year started great with meeting new people and new friends which embarked me on a new adventure filled with surprises.

And obviously, surprises come in all forms; joy, bitterness, jealousy and sadness. Along the way, the adventures brought me happiness in terms of new friends, hangouts, trips and appreciation of life. They also brought me sadness in terms of deaths of close, loved ones, friendship, adulthood and education. Moreover, bitterness and jealousy ensued when everything with what I was thinking was just wrong. I definitely do regret thinking that way because it made me feel horrible.

In addition to that, there also has been many deaths of celebrities and close ones that were tragic. RIP to all of them. 😦

However, the year has truly been a blessing, with all the fun I have had with my closest friends. I have been to Kuala Lumpur for a 1 week trip with my Bruneian friends, I have been to birthday parties of my Melbourne friends (I know that sounds weird but it’s nice to hangout and party for a while); I even surprised one of my friends in Brunei (you know who you are if you’re reading this!). Everything just feels great being with the people I love.

Overall, 2016 has its up and down and it’s closing soon. I’m just grateful with what I have and appreciate everything that happened this year; whether it was the good times or the sad times. Let’s look forward to a new year and new adventures!

Living Life: Chilling with Qawi

Hello everybody, meet Qawi! He’s been a friend of mine for about 5 years now. We first met through a mutual friend via gaming. And he became one of my teammates for gaming (Refer to In My Mind: Competitiveness and Perfectionist). Ever since then, we have been contacting each other on and off through text and gaming.

As we barely get to see each other (I’m mostly studying in Melbourne and he was studying at Bandar), I thought it would be a nice way to catch up with each other’s lives! We talked about various topics; his camping trip at Temburong, my pharmacy life, relationships etc. It was definitely a great night. Just chilling with a close friend outside and talking.

Throughout the conversations of our friendship, his experience kind of opened up my views on situations that I myself would never have experienced. As a Chinese that had mostly Chinese friends throughout my school life, I never really interacted with the Malays. Having him as one of the pure Malay friend, it gives me a lot of insight on what it is like to be with Malays. How they think or how they act. Obviously, not all Malays are the same but I guess it gave a general summary/consensus as to how they behave in certain situations, seeing that most will have the same culture.

Just to clarify, I’m not a judgmental person and certainly will not judge a person without looking at all of the contents. However, it does give some impressions. Hope the Malays out there are not offended! Have a great night!
